Wrapped in a lovely pink ribbon, three Beautifully Made! Books looked too pretty to open up and read. So glad I overcame my hesitation and looked inside the pretty covers. Straightforward, but overwhelmingly pure, these small books are a treasure for young women and their mothers, who are wanting to lovingly guide them into womanhood.

Beautifully Made! Approaching Womanhood edited by Julie Hiramine introduces young girls to the changes occurring in their bodies. This book is straightforward, but not awkward in any way. I love the way the physical changes in a young woman's body are introduced as being a good gift from a loving Heavenly Father. I was thrilled when I entered womanhood because I knew that my body could bring forth life--our glorious privilege as women! Unfortunately, most of the time, a young woman's first period is marked by negative comments about "the curse" and "Oh, you poor thing." How sad!  Our monthly cycles are a reminder that our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made in God's image to bring new life into the world. Julie Hiramine and her friends remind us of this fact in all three books and recommend celebrating this brand new phase in a young ladies life with flowers and lunch out with Mom!

Beautifully Made! Approaching Womanhood covers all the physical changes girls can expect during the early years of puberty. Everything is clear and easy to understand. Soundly scientific and from a Creationist perspective, this book would make a great addition to an anatomy or health class for your daughters in high school.

Beautifully Made! Celebrating Womanhood looks at the emotional and spiritual aspects of the womanly process covered in the first book. With a lovely look at blood in Scripture (yes, you read that right!), girls are encouraged to look at their periods as a monthly reminder of the grace of God and how the blood of Jesus purifies us from every sin. I was so touched that I read that section aloud to all my girls (my four daughters and our dear friend, Aisha, who lives with us!). I will never see my period in the same way again. There is another look at suffering in Scripture, followed by practical ways to alleviate the sometimes uncomfortable side-effects of cramping, PMS, and heavy discharge. Throughout all three books, there are real life testimonies that girls can relate to. Always upbeat, girls are reminded that it is a glorious privilege to be a woman!

Beautifully Made! Wisdom from a Woman Mother's Guide is for the moms of young women. It covers the science, anatomy, emotional, and spiritual aspects that daughters experience as their bodies change from little girls to women. Mom is first reassured that she is the perfect one to share these truths with her daughter. God has chosen Mom to bring her daughters into the lovely world of godly womanhood. There are suggestions to make this transition time a happy, exciting one for daughters, as well as practical tips such as having supplies on hand before the first period arrives.

I wish I'd had these books ten years ago. Though I rejoiced with each daughter and discussed purity until marriage, I did not give them flowers or take them out to lunch. I wish I had! We are reading these books aloud because they are so gentle and inspirational. I want each of my daughters to have a set for their own children!

If you feel insecure about guiding your daughter into these special phase of her life, then please get this mother's guide to be encourage, inspired and equipped. Let your daughters read the other two books or, better yet, read them aloud together! This lovely set of three books is available for $18.99 on the Generations of Virtue website.

"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the Word of God." (Titus 2:3-5 NIV)

God is calling mothers to take their place as the educators of their young daughters, to be Titus 2 women in their home training these young ladies to be kind, pure, self-controlled, loving, submissive, and industriousness. Let's heed the call of Generations of Virtue and raise pure and lovely daughters for the glory of God!

Our young daughters are lovely maidens destined to be handmaidens of the Lord. They are set apart to be as carved pillars in the House of the Lord, full of joy and righteousness in the Holy Spirit. It may be their destiny to see the return of Christ, so we must prepare them to take their place in the glorious Bride of the Lamb. Let's do all that we can do to guard their purity and protect the priceless treasure that is in their hearts. They are lovely roses starting to bud. What a glorious calling form the Lord to bring our daughters into womanhood!

If you are interested in more resources for raising your daughters, please check out my Bible studies for young women, God's Girls Talk about Boys, Dating, Courtship, & Marriage, God's Girls Beauty Secrets, God's Girls Friends to the End, God's Girls Grow in Christ and Christian Character Class, and God's Girls Friendship, Hospitality, & Celebrations Class.

As you raise children for the glory of God, remember that it is He who works in us to will and to act according to His good and perfect purpose!
