Thanksgiving is here and it just seems like the perfect time for children to thank Mom and Dad for investing in their lives by homeschooling them.
"I am thankful that my mom and dad homeschool me because...
"... I learn more about God, I have less temptation form the world. At school they called me names and now I have new friends that love me, I get up later, and my dad is reading to us." (Christina, 13, Oviedo, FL)
"...I am able to cultivate relationships with Christ, my family, and my church, in a way I couldn't do otherwise! It's given me a firm foundation on biblical truth that I will carry into the rest of my life." (Jennifer, 17, Lake Mary, FL)
"... I don't have to get up at 6:00 a.m., I can stay home and do my work, and I don't have to go to school all day and come home to do MORE work!" (Nicholas, 15, Oviedo, FL)
"...it provides a positive and biblical atmosphere. It also provides a flexible schedule that allows for sleeping in and spontaneous field trips." (Cody, 17, Sanford, FL)

"... I get to draw pictures, be with my baby brother, and build Legos with my big brother. I can get a hug from my Mum anytime I want. I don't think that kids who go to school get that. (Kairon, 4, Australia)
"...She does everything nicely and she's able to teach me. And she teaches me from a Christian perspective." (Mae, 11, Sanford, FL)
"...She teaches me about math and I get to do it better. She gives me a good education." (Saxon, 9, Sanford, FL)
"...I can combine my studies and interests together." (David John, 13, Abu Dhabi)
"...I learn more skills like cooking and sewing. I also can read, read, read to my heart's delight." (Deborah John, 10, Abu Dhabi)
"...The atmosphere isn't as secular. When I was in public school, I was taught unbiblical principles and untrue information about the world and the things of the world. Now, I'm being taught biblical principles and things that are true about the world through biblical references and people." (Josh, 14, Sanford, FL)
"It is more Christian Based than secular, like when I was in public school. I can work at my own pace." (Lance, 14, Sanford, FL)
"...It keeps me away from the public school system, in which I've had bad experiences in the past. My mom keeps me working on task and to the best of my abilities." (David, 16, Sanford, FL)
"...I'm in a place where I'm not surrounded by unbelievers to be tempted. My mom's an awesome teacher!" (Jim, 11, Lake Mary, FL)
"...I get more freedom in what I learn. It brings me closer to my mother." (Phoebe, 14, Sanford, FL)
"...I get a better education. I don't have to be around bad influences. (Joshua, 13, Sanford, FL)

"...of the responsibility that was instilled in me. Also, the morals and values that my mom taught me. It's caused me to stand firm in college." (Marla, 20, Student at Stetson University, Deland, FL)
"...It allowed me to get firmly grounded in the beliefs and principles I hold to now. It allowed for a more personalized education." (Zack, 19, Sanford, FL)
"...I received a rigorous, well-grounded academic education and personal spiritual discipleship. And because I built close family relationships, that caused me to value people and the Lord above the values of the world." (Katherine, 23, Lake Mary, FL)
"...it has equipped me to minister to all kinds of people in order to extend the Kingdom of God by force, as a forceful woman of God." (Julianna, 20, Lake Mary, FL)
It is a good and joyful thing to give thanks. It is good for our children to appreciate the sacrifice and time we invest in homeschooling them. Truly they are blessed beyond what we see happening to children in the world today, as they are neglected and shoved aside so that parents can pursue their own selfish agendas. What a glorious heritage we are giving our children each day as they receive an education that is priceless. So, before you give in to discouragement again, sit back and realize what a great impact you are making on the young lives entrusted to you. And stop and give thanks for the freedom and opportunity to homeschool your precious little children.
