I heading to Germany in a few months with my daughter and a friend. Having been to Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands, I know that there are a few things I need for my trip overseas.
I am so excited to visit my German friends and tour the castles and cathedrals close to their home. Did I mention German food? I'm so excited!
So, here is my shopping list of things I have purchased for our trip.
I had to get a new book bag because they are such sticklers for carry-on size now and my other roll book bag is too big, though I love all the room it has.
I also needed practical things like outlet adapters and luggage tags. In addition, I always need clothes for any trip anywhere.
I have spend hours reading my DK Eyewitness Travel Guide Germany. I love the bright photos and details.
I decided to update my Kindle Fire and get a new tablet for the trip. I added a travel pillow and I think that's it.

Travel Wheeled Rolling Backpack
This lightweight backpack is waterproof and only 19 inches high so it easily fits the size requirements. Thankfully, my laptop fits perfectly. I tested it out on a quick trip to visit my sister. The backpack was easy to wheel through the airport and slid right under the seat in front of me. Check it out here.
European Travel Plug Adaptor
This European Travel Plug Adapter Pair is indispensable for our trip because we are bringing our laptops and cellphones. They will need to be charged. We'll also need to plug in the hair straightener. Oh, did I mention, in Europe, they have different plugs in the wall and nothing from America will work!
DK Eyewitness Travel Guide Germany
This handy travel guide, DK Eyewitness Travel Germany, is perfect for trip preparation. You can look up all kinds of places to go and see. The photos are bright and glossy--they got me so excited for my trip! I also love all the maps of Germany, cities, and buildings.
Travel Pillow
I know they do pass out pillows on the plane, but so often I wake up with a crick in my neck, so I decided to get a comfy travel pillow. I like the color (blue) and love that it comes with ear plugs and a sleeping mask.
Reese Cups
We asked our hosts what we could bring and they immediately responded, "Reese Cups." We understand. We love Reese Cups, too.
Fire HD 10 Tablet
Three weeks before my trip, my Kindle Fire died. Now, it was an OLD tablet, so I decided to splurge and buy and new Fire HD 10.Tablet. Not only do I have a new tablet, but it takes photos too.
Germany Here I Come!
Well, my shopping is finished!
And the amazing thing is I didn't have to leave my house at all to get everything I needed for my trip.
I have to admit it: I don't really enjoy shopping in stores. It can be so stressful and it takes so long to drive to each store and find what you want. With shopping on Amazon, I was able to get everything I need quickly and have it delivered right to my doorstep.
All I have to do now is to pack my suitcases and hop on a plane.
Germany, here I come!
