Courses & Units

One of the greatest joys in my life has been teaching my children at home.
In the process of educating my children and teens, I began to create my own curriculum and unit studies. What a blast to search out what we would study next.
Jesus is the center of our home and education. We love Him, we obey Him, and we want to learn about His plans and purposes in the earth. It is a great privilege to learn about the Lord and all that He has done from Creation to the Flood to the Tower of Babel to the Exodus to the Life of Jesus and His coming Again. The Lord is the author of History. It is HIS Story. God Most High set scientific laws in place and we get to discover them. Our Heavenly Father is a communicator--He wrote the Bible and speaks to our hearts.
In our house, we love living books. Snuggling up together to read aloud is a favorite way to learn. We also love to tell each other about the books we read. From classic literature to biographies, from diaries to original documents, we manage to incorporate all kinds of writing into our curriculum and unit studies.
Besides books, we like to have fun! We've incorporated drama, cooking, baking, music, art, crafts, and design projects into our learning so that we get a taste of life where or when we are studying. This has brought other time periods and places alive for us.
