Your Promises are True!

Picture
This song started out in my Quiet Time. I was very sad about some things that were going on and even sadder about my response to them. I sang this to the Lord that morning as a song of faith that God would bring something good out of ashes, that I would hear His voice out of distortion. I cried through the chorus, filled with faith because I believe that His Kingdom is amazing and promises are true, even when my life is filled with pain.

I played the song for Rosie and Zack. They loved it, but Zack suggested changing the chords to open chords with more of a rock-n-roll sound. The sound switched gears immediately from a gentle worship song to a driving declaration of faith! Rose added some amazing harmony to the melody. The worship team caught the heart of the song immediately and we began to sing it in church. When Brad joined the worship team, he led the band in tweaking the riffs, adding a very cool bass line and creativity to the guitar line. This song is truly a song crafted by our worship team and heartily sung by our congregation.
