Merey’s Book Review: The Genius of Ancient Man

After I finished reading The Secrets of Ancient Man, I had to read The Genius of Ancient Man.

I found this book equally compelling.

Like his other book, it was easy-to-understand and beautifully illustrated book with charts and graphs to make things clear for me as a reader.

I was blessed to learn more about the Bible, ancient history texts, and archaeology.

These books led me to other resources and further study. In preparing to teach a homeschool co-op class on Ancient Times, I found The Genius of Ancient Man and The Secret of Ancient Man to be invaluable resources in class prep.

Let me share a little bit from the book to whet your appetite.

Intelligent from the Beginning

Man was created intelligently in God’s image. He did not evolve. Men and women were capable of acquiring vast amounts of knowledge and technological skill. There are things that ancient men build in ways mysterious to us today and seem impossible to recreate. Ancient men had vast knowledge of astronomy and architecture, combining the two to create structures with a purpose. Inventions, sanitation, irrigation, mining, and world travel were enjoyed by ancient civilizations.

Ancient cultures-built monuments, mounds, and pyramids around the world that are remarkably similar and reveal extraordinary intelligence. According to legends from various parts of the world, men were able to kill dinosaurs (dragons). Archaeological finds continue to confirm advanced cultures from the very beginning.

Real & Counterfeit

There are two kingdoms.

The real kingdom, God’s Kingdom, and the counterfeit kingdom belonging to satan. God uses mountains in his Kingdom and satan counterfeits it with pyramids, ziggurats, and mounds.

Stars were given as signs and for season, but the darkness leads men into astrology and horoscopes.

Human sacrifice is required for sin. The soul that sins must die. But our perfect Saviour Jesus gave the perfect and only necessary human sacrifice for all time. Many idol/gods around the world (Moloch, Hawaiian deities, Aztec deities) required human sacrifice.

Just as Jesus is the True Light, satan appears as an angel of light, deceiving and entrapping entire cultures.

Oh, dear there is so much more I want to tell you. You will just have to read the book yourself. You will love it!

The Genius of Ancient Man: Evolution’s Nightmare by Don Landis is published by Master Books and available from Great Christian Books. Written for adults who want to learn more about the Bible and ancient history, it is also suitable for high school and advanced middle school students.
