How I Started Leading Worship
I am surrounded by worshipers in my home and local church. They are expressive in times of worship with bright happy smiles on their faces. But, my favorite thing is how they are devoted to the Lord in their daily lives, striving to have daily Quiet Times, memorize Scripture, obey His commands, love people, and boldly share the Good News about Jesus.
It is so easy to lead worship at Powerline. No one ever wants to stop! I have been leading worship since 2001, when my husband, Mike asked me to substitute for him for 2 months. When the 2 months were over, he asked me if I could continue to lead worship at church. I have been doing it ever since. It has been wonderful, terrible, challenging, breathtaking, hard, and amazing. I love it! The Lord has taken me way out of my comfort zone, humbled me, and instructed me with so much patience.
He brought me skilled musicians and singers who work hard to prepare to lead worship with me each week. However, my favorite thing about my worship team is that they walk with Christ in radical, committed way. Their lives are laid down for the Gospel. It is a tremendous privilege to lead worship with the Powerline Worship Team and I am so thankful that they put up with me!
I don’t have all the answers, but can share the simple things the Lord has shown me over the past 20 years.
